Hematite

Hematite

A beautifully shiny steel blue single flat floater of haematite. The crystal appears to be built up in four or five lamellae which have fused at the tip. This specimen is from a find 7 years ago. The crystals seem to be thicker brighter and better formed than more recent examples - but this is subjective!
