Locality: Sebiş (Borossebes), Arad Co., Romania

Note: The mineral species Limonite is not listed in our database for this locality. This specimen may be misidentified or the mindat list of minerals at this locality may be incomplete.

50 x 42 x 45 mm. A well developed pyritohedron, of a limonite pseudomorph after pyrite, from the obscure locality once known as Borossebes, in Hungary, ( until 1931) ...which is now Romania, Transylvania. The old iron mines were near Sebis and Mineasa....( Formerly " Menyhaza) Please see pic of L.Conklin's notes and the Hugh Ford label.
