Aragonite, Fluorite

Aragonite : CaCO3, Fluorite : CaF2

An aesthetic specimen from this well known Fluorite locality. Several pale blue Fluorite cubes with yellow centres are intergrown, on which lustrous pale yellow elongate crystals of Aragonite are growing in spiky or bladed clusters. The Fluorite cubes are well formed with a soft lustre, and measure to 2cm in width. Several cubes show small metallic inclusions. The Aragonite is very lustrous and often transparent at the tips, with crystals growing in radiating clusters and measuring to over 2.5cm in length. An attractive specimen.
