Locality: Governador Valadares, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil

Note: The mineral species Almandine-Pyrope Series is not listed in our database for this locality. This specimen may be misidentified or the mindat list of minerals at this locality may be incomplete.

Floater crystal (fully crystallized on all surfaces - no point of attachment) of transparent, dark-red almandine-pyrope garnet. The crystal is dodecahedral with trapezohedral edge modifications. Overall size of mineral specimen: 6x6x6 mm. Size of individual crystals: 6 mm.
