Locality: Kamisano, Nanbu town (Nambu town), Yamanashi Prefecture, Chubu Region, Honshu Island, Japan

Single crystal (doubly-terminated) of chrome diopside. The dark color appears to due to a surface coating, perhaps a manganese oxide. Ex. A. Stevenson collection #66. Overall size of mineral specimen: 10x8x7 mm. Size of individual crystals: 10 mm.
