Spessartine, Quartz (Var: Smoky Quartz)

Locality: Wushan Spessartine Mine, Tongbei, Yunxiao Co., Zhangzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province, China

5.4 x 2.1 x 1.6 cm. An UNUSUALLY striking example of this now classic Chinese combo - not the usual plate of small spessartines with smokies sticking up, but a single uncommonly gemmy smoky with isolated spessartines on it.
