Austinite, Cuproaustinite

Locality: Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Mun. de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico

Balls of tiny crystals, to 4 mm in diameter. The balls are colourless near the surface and have deep grass green cores, indicating that their chemical composition varies from pure austinite to cuproaustinite, or even zincoan conichalcite.
