Locality: Burke Co., North Carolina, USA

Single crystal of almandine garnet with no matrix, no point of attachment - a complete floater. The crystal is perfect trapezohedron (24 faces) and has a limonite surface coating. With old label from Schortmann's. Ex. Al Sebela collection. Overall size of mineral specimen: 35x35x35 mm. Size of individual crystals: 35 mm.
