SEM image. Typical hexagonal tabular crystal of osmium with composition Os.58Ir.42 - according to L. Cabri classification it had belong to iridosmine field, but according to 50% rule, accepted by IMA, it is osmium now. The crystal is composed by hexagonal prisme, two hexagonal dipyramides and pinacoids. Note zone of the crystal enriched with bubbles of volatiles. This feature say to us, that the crystal is hydrothermal-metasomatic origin rather than primary magmatic one. Selfcollected in May of 2004. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.
