Locality: Boron Pit, Baker mine, U.S. Borax Mine (Pacific West Coast Borax Mine; Pacific Coast Borax Co. Mine; Boron Mine; U.S. Borax and Chemical Corp. Mine; Kramer Mine; Baker Mine), Kramer Borate deposit, Boron, Kramer District, Kern Co., California, USA
The Boron Open Pit is well known for its "TV rock" ulexite, but specimens with calcite from this location were never common. Here we have a column of fibrous white ulexite with a 2.0 cm cluster of butterscotch calcite crystals at the tip. Collected April 2000 by Steve Hardinger.
