Astrophyllite : (K,Na)₃(Fe,Mn)₇Ti₂Si₈O₂₄(O,OH)₇, Aegirine : NaFe³⁺[Si₂O₆], Quartz : SiO₂

Locality: Gere-Su river, Zeravshan range, Osh Oblast, Kyrgyzstan

Three large bronze astrophyllite plates (one is perpendicular to view on the upper right part of the specimen) in pegmatite of quartz-bearing alkaline syenites. Associating minerals are alkali feldspars, aegirine and quartz. Specimen size is 10x7x3 cm. Collected by Leonid A. Pautov. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.
