Vermiculite (old varietal name: Jeffersite). Named after famed Chester Co. collector William Jefferies, whose collection formed the core of the Carnegie Museum collection. The occurrence from this locale was later determined to be Vermiculite and this new species was invalidated . From the long closed Brinton's Quarry, West Chester, Chester Co., Pennsylvania. Specimen size: 4.7 x 3.6cm. From the PA Annex of my personal collection, acquired in 2003.
