The boulangerite ring sits on the surface of a micromount fluorite crystal which is heavily included with acicular boulangerite. Handwritten Neal Yedlin label gives the locality as "Madoc, Ont." Various exploration pits in the vicinity of the Rogers Mine are also a source of micromounts. The Fluorite mining in the Madoc area dates from the early 20th Century. The Rogers Mine, which operated until 1962, was the most productive of some 50 different prospects in the area. Photomicrograph © Saul Krotki (.0512.2). Field of view 1.2 mm.
