Sphalerite

Locality: ZCA No. 4 Mine (St Joe Mine; ZCA No. 4 mine), Balmat, Balmat-Edwards Zinc District, St. Lawrence Co., New York, USA

A pristine, gem crystal of sphalerite from the ZCA mine in Balmat, New York. This crystal is a very, very pale yellow. The closest to colorless (var. cleiophane) I've seen from this locale - or any locale (outside of the curious material from Franklin, NJ) for that matter. Approx. 2cm
