A quite unusual golden metallic Chalcopyrite pseudomorph after Betekhtinite, with a few Calcite, Chalcocite and Bornite crystals on drusy quartz matrix. The pseudomorphed crystals reach up to 30 mm and have retained the typical criss-crossed parallel habitus of Betekhtinite with vertical striations. Some broken crystals evidence complete pseudomorphosis to Chalcopyrite, though a few ones feature a black metallic heart, suggesting some Betekhtinite is still present or is pseudomorphed to Chalcocite. Betekhtinite specimens from this locality are usually Chalcocite pseudomorphs (overall 18.5 x 6.0 x 2.0 cm). JF Carpentier specimen (#00830) and photograph.
