Initial, oxidized state in which the specimen came to my hands. Note the difference in tints of oxidation films on nuggets surfaces - smaller one is more brownish. Polished microprobe preparate from two nuggets mounted in epoxy wax, its outer diameter is 22 mm.
Of course, it wasn't the best idea to mount the preparate within duraluminium tube. But we should to remember, that in those times native aluminium was known only on the Moon. Nobody had expected to found native aluminium in this nuggets. In any case, the composition of native aluminium inclusions into the preparate (99.9 wt.% Al) is quite different from composition of duraluminium particles (this alloy contains complete %% of Cu,Mn and Mg), which may be derived from the tube during polishing.
