breccia rock

Locality: Route 73 road cut, Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, Robert-Cliche RCM, Chaudière-Appalaches, Québec, Canada

Another pile of rock that seems to be Saint Daniel formation was found near Calway road and Rue L'assumption. It appears to fit an olistostrome due to the chaotic mix of sediments. All these formations around the Saint Joseph fault represent the closing of the Japetus Ocean. Due to the amount of faulting and movement slices of rock were moved great distances as the oceanic plate was subducted.
