The emeralds from Jos are interesting from the standpoint of crystallography due to the fact that they can have very attractive modified terminations featuring (2021) and (1011) pyramidal modifying faces, and not just simple basal pinacoids like those from Colombia. Also, specimens from Jos tend to have more of a blue overtone than the Colombian pieces, and this cluster is no exception. It features a pair of sharp, lustrous, very gemmy, prismatic diverging crystals forming an ideal thumbnail specimen for aesthetics and quality. The specimen measures 2.6 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm.
