Locality: Cavnic Mine (Kapnikbánya), Cavnic (Kapnic; Kapnik), Maramures Co., Romania

Translucent, yellow divergent sprays up to 3 cm across of fine scalenohedral calcite crystals on matrix. The crystal aggregates appear chatoyant because of the crystal orientation and translucency. No damage. Overall size of mineral specimen: 6x5x3 cm. Size of individual crystals: 5 mm.
