Augite

Locality: Limberg Quarries, Sasbach, Kaiserstuhl, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Field of view ca. 15 mm. Augite crystals as a major part of Limburgite. The yellow-brown matrix is former olivine weathered to a mixture. See child pic for the whole specimen. Collected in 2007. Zeolite collection of Volker Betz.
