Zircon-favas - water-washed pebble of Caldasite. Caldasite is collomorphous metacolloidal variety of Baddeleyite, formed in laterite crusts of weathering of nepheline syenites and phonolites. Zircon-favas is result of rewashing of these crusts by modern rivers. Greenish-grey fibrous baddeleyite associated in this specimen with grey granular Zircon (right side of the pebble). Specimen size is 2x1.5x1.5 cm and its weight is 23,6 g, so its specific gravity is 5.24 g/cm3. Excolletion of Fedor V. Chukhrov obtained by him 14 August 1982. Pavel M.
