Chalcocite, Chrysocolla

Chalcocite, Chrysocolla

A well crystallized chalcocite crystal measuring 7mm in its largest dimension coated in brilliant blue chrysocolla. The shiny black chalcocite is visible in places where the chrysocolla has broken away and the pseudo-hexagonal form of the crystal is clearly visible. The blue color of the specimen is truly stunning and not exagerrated in the photo. An interesting specimen from a fairly obscure locality. Self collected. Photographed under sunlight.
