Large, etched aquamarine crystal, from a miarolitic cavity found north of Ardeth Lake, Boise County, Idaho in 1986. This was almost the only crystal left in the exposed pocket, found in two pieces. The rest of the pocket had been breached and the contents were distributed throughout the soil at the base of the granite outcrop (see photo ID:# ). Size of specimen 18.2 x 4.4 x 3.8 cm.; note the deep blue color at bottom, paler blue towards tip. Self-collected.
