Celestine, Gypsum (Var: Selenite)

Locality: Pacific Mine (Borate; Borate Colemanite Mines; Calico; Old Borate), Borate, Calico District (Daggett District), Calico Mts (Calico Hills), San Bernardino Co., California, USA

Large specimen of deep blue Celestite pseudomorphed after Selenite from the wash along the way to the mines of the Calico Mountains. It is 2 inches long and quite heavy. Only specimen of this material found on our first trip to this area.
