unidentified brown mineral

Locality: Autoroute 155 roadcut, Mékinac RCM, Mauricie, Québec, Canada

Brown mineral associated with black mineral. I collected this in summer of 2008. In the skarn material and etched crystals out of calcite using hydrochloric acid. Field of view is about 4 mm. It may be titanite by color and association but I am not sure.
