dark gneiss

Locality: Roxbury Township, Morris Co., New Jersey, USA

This is one sample I collected from a road cut blast just East of exit 28 on Route 80 in the summer of 2008. It is about 6" long. It appears to be a gneiss with a lot of hornblende. Similar to an amphibolite perhaps.
