Brownish-grey rounded grains of knebelite (in the center and upper left parts of the specimen) in poly-metallic sulphide ore. Associating minerals are dark-brown FeMn-pyroxene forming rims around knebelite and sulphides - pyrrhotite, pyrite, galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite and arsenopyrite. Knebelite was described in the article - Groznova e.a. (2006): Mineralogy and PT Formation Conditions of Lead–Zinc Ore at the Dzhimidon Deposit, North Osetia. Geology of Ore Deposits 48(2), 108-133. Specimen size is 4.5x2x1.5 cm. Collected by Georgy Akimov in 2004. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.
