Slyudyanka (Sludyanka), Lake Baikal area, Irkutskaya Oblast', Prebaikalia (Pribaikal'e), Eastern-Siberian Region, Russia
Typical shape, colour and appearance of baikalite - local variety of diopside from Slyudyanka. Now such crystals become rare in the area. Specimen size is 3x2x1 cm. Collected in XIX century. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.
