Rhodochrosite, Natrolite, Microcline


Rhodochrosite : MnCO3, Natrolite : Na2[Al2Si3O10] · 2H2O, Microcline : K[AlSi3O8]

This is a 7"x3 1/2" piece of syenite that contains a pipelike vug containing rhodocrosite, natrolite and microcline. The rhodocrosite is a deep hue of red, the largest crystal is about 20mm x20mm on the left. Just over it and to the right is a line of natrolite balls. The interior of the vug is lined with white microcline plates.
