Fluorite

Locality: Heights Mine, Westgate, Weardale, North Pennines, Co. Durham, England, UK

A transparent, deep green twinned fluorite crystal, 2.5 cm on edge, perched a triangular piece of ironstone matrix. Fluorite has a pale purple core with green outer layer. 5.5x4.5x3.5 cm overall. Specimen recovered in July 1977 by Richard Barstow.
