Hematite, Augite

Locality: Twin Peaks Prospect (Black Crystal; Black Diamond), Twin Peak, Millard Co., Utah, USA

This specimen features sharp hematite pseudomorph after magnetite crystals, reaching 1 cm along the edge. A few complete, deep green, opaque augite crystals to about 6 mm are also present.

Specimen size: 4.9 x 3.0 x 2.3 cm (1.9 x 1.2 x 0.9 inches)
