Monazite-(Ce)

Locality: Steli Feldspar Quarry, Tveit, Iveland, Aust-Agder, Norway

Monazite-(Ce) in muscovite mica. The Monazite from here can be of quite good quality, but are normally not that large. This one is about 1 cm.

This monazite has not been analysed. Both monazite-(Ce) and monazite-(La) has been identified from the general Evje/Iveland area. La dominant monazite has only been identified from two quarries in the area, and the vast majority of the analyzed monazites has been Ce dominant, hence naming this specimen as Monazite-(Ce).
