Locality: Schorl and Ilmenite occurrence, Highway 5 extension, Chelsea, Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais RCM, Outaouais, Québec, Canada

Section of a 19 cm specimen. Left: unaltered ilmenite crystals to 13 mm, center: altered crystals to grey mixture (hematite, rutile, anatase), lower mid-right: small crystals with 'leucoxene' replacement. These tan crystals are mostly composed of anatase and rutile. See other photo for a close-up of these crystals. Prep: Calcite removed with HCl.
