Representative assembly of minerals associated with hydrothermal veins in the Old Mine Park area. The specimen was collected in the park and prepared using a diamond lapidary saw to expose the interior, which consists of yellowish massive topaz, grayish margarite, and gray-green margarodite assumedly replacing topaz. The rocks contained in the particular vein this sample was collected from are notably rich in strontium with respect to material collected in similar environments within the area. I recently did a small project for a geochemistry course I took investigating the heavy element composition of these unique hydrothermal rocks using a Rigaku XRF Spectrometer. Personally collected specimen.
