5.5x4x2 cm fragment of Chrysoprase concretion with crust of recrystallized Quartz. Typical morphology of drying and contraction of crystallizing gel is very well visible here. Quartz on the specimen was formed by recrystallization of outer opal layer of the concretion. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.
