A very good specimen of intensely blue Liroconite, with individual crystals to 7 mm and measuring 9 cm across overall, associated with green acicular Olivenite from the John C. White collection. The white quartz matrix provides good contrast with the Liroconite crystals and a specimen like this is quite rarely seen. Mr. White obtained the piece from David Wilbur at the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies national show, held in September 1971 at Seattle, Washington, USA. Mr. White’s notes indicate that it was the better of two pieces that David Wilbur was offering at the time. Robert Meyer specimen and photograph.
