Borax

Borax

Borax. J. Minette collection. Scale at bottom of image is an inch with a rule at one cm. Borax crystals grow in sumps and in the bottoms of partially flooded stopes in the old underground workings at Boron. Sometimes they grow on old mine timbers and other rubbish. In this specimen you can see that the Borax crystals are growing on a piece of wood.
