Tincalconite


Tincalconite : Na2[B4O7] · 5H2O

Tincalconite. J. Minette collection. The scale at the bottom of the image is an inch with a rule at one cm. Borax grown in sumps and in the bottoms of partially flooded stopes in the old underground mine in Boron. Rarely crystals of this habit are formed. They are originally white or pale amber in color, but turn white after dehydration.
