Locality: Hutson Zinc mine, Salem, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Livingston Co., Kentucky, USA
Fluorite was reported to be rare at the Hutson Zinc Mine. This specimen showing purple cubes was found in a large boulder of sphalerite. Sphalerite occurs in a wide range of colors at the Hutson Zinc Mine. Specimen was collected by, and in the collection of, the photographer Alan Goldstein. Collecting on this property must be done with the person who owns the mineral rights.
