This is a close-up showing droplets of bitumen formed as calcite was growing over fluorite. The specimen broke along the contact between the two, and the spherical oil droplets either remained in the fluorite leaving dimples in the calcite or broke in half. Field of view is about 7 mm. Specimen is in the collection of the photographer Alan Goldstein.
