Azurite, Cornubite

Locality: Copper Stope, Majuba Hill Mine (Mylar Mine), Antelope District, Pershing Co., Nevada, USA

Note: The mineral species Azurite is not listed in our database for this locality. This specimen may be misidentified or the mindat list of minerals at this locality may be incomplete.

A rare find from high up on the copper stope. Cornubite was pseudomorphing the azurite and in some pieces also coating and others completely replacing the azurite. Prismatic azurite from Majuba is rare and this odd pseudomorph makes this a special, if not quite small, find. This piece had a whopping 3-4mm azurite, which was the biggest of the find!
