Dimensions: 12 cm x 10 cm x 7 cm

12 x 10 x 7 cm. Cordierite from this locality sets the standard for the species. Unlike the ugly material from most places, it is actually pretty here - sometimes. It has a waxy brown shoe-polish look to the surface on the best specimens, such as this one. This was collected by Bob Whitmore in the 1970s and is a highly significant specimen for its isolated, beer-can sized crystal standing straight up from matrix. Museum quality, for this rarity and important study species. Ex. Robert Whitmore Collection.
