Locality: North Mine, Brimpts Tin Mines, Dartmoor Forest, Dartmoor & Teign Valley District, Devon, England, UK

A photograph of an extremely rich specimen of Cassiterite from North Mine, of the Brimpts Tin Mine Sett, Dartmeet, Dartmoor, Devon. (SX 653751). Specimen measures approximately 4 x 4 x 3 inches and comprises of virtually solid fine grained dark brown Cassiterite in a minor Quartz and Tourmaline peach matrix. Specimen weighs 1.25k.

The specimen has been made wet to photgraph to ensure the Cassiterite can be seen. Without wetting even in bright sunlight the Cassiterite is difficult to see.

Specimen I would estimate consists of approximately 60% Cassiterite.
