Andradite (Var: Demantoid), Asbestos

Locality: Dobšiná (Dobschau) Mining District, Rožňava Co., Košice Region, Slovakia

Interesting, very old specimen from a first 1800 collection, with a rich coverage of small (<1mm) Demantoid crystals in serpentinite and a layer of Asbestos fibers. Labeled "Dopschau" (see at this regard: http://books.google.it/books?id=1ooAAAAAcAAJ&pg=PA337&lpg=PA337&dq=dopschau&source=bl&ots=7lPvCBlwZQ&sig=J_v_1GHilWEvmO_hM_08ZQIePvE&hl=it&ei=5AkBS6_0ApqInQOL1sX1Cw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CBoQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=dopschau&f=false).
