pseudomorphs of blue chalcedony after fluorite crystals
size 5,2 x 2,8 cm
self collected in july 2006

i love the local farmers: they are very kind and helpful - and they know where to find the blue chalzedony: on their fields! they also collect and sell them: in a bucket full of bright blue stones without any protection(sic!). pseudomorphs are rare, but not too rare. undamaged crystals are nearly impossible to find. but if you have one, you have a rare beauty. the history of collecting is long: in austrian museums i have seen specimen from the 18th century!
