A thick layer of silicified limestone above a layer of softer rock (probably marl, ca. 1 meter high) at a road cut. The silicified zone in the center is surrounded by a border of hardly silicified, spongy limestones. Within the central zone numerous veins of bluish chalcedony cut through the rock. The veins are not related to the underlying soft layer. Field of view about 10 meters.
