10x15cm specimen with a quite large garnet crystal (8cm longest dimension).

The garnets from the skarns in Kristiansand are of indermediate composition between grossular and andradite, and both andradite and grossular occur at all locations. Andradite and grossular cannot be visually distinguished, except for the light coloured garnets from the transition zone which are grossulars.
