Pillar 40 of the Cap Garonne mine.

This is the most famous pillar of the mine, used in posters and publications for its shape and color (as far as minerals are concerned, it was a poor collecting place with azurite and minor connellite).

Photograph by Pierre Clolus taken during systematic mapping of the North mine undertaken by AAMCG and AFM (2009).

On the upper right corner, the yellow circle contains the "40" number, given by Pierre-Jacques Chiappero during his PhD work on the mine (Chiappero, 1993)
