Andradite (Var: Demantoid)

Locality: Tubussis Farm 22 (Tubussis; Tubusis; Tubessis), Karibib District, Erongo Region, Namibia

2.2 x 2.0 x 1.0 cm. An aesthetic, well-defined thumbnail cluster of gemmy, leaf-green andradite (var demantoid) garnets. The largest is 8 mm, and all have excellent lustre. The shape of the cluster, allowing each of the demantoids their individuality but still grouped together, creates a very attractive piece. One crystal is contacted, but has no damage. The specimen is beautiful in its simplicity. The backlit photo highlights the gemminess and beautiful green color density. Ex. Charlie Key dealer stock.
