Locality: Luthersteufe Mine, Schorte valley (Schurde), Oehrenstock (Öhrenstock), Langewiesen, Ilmenau District, Thuringian Forest, Thuringia, Germany

A fine example with prismatic thin black lustrous crystals of pyrolusite compact in a 5.8 x 5.0 x 2.5 cm matrix. Choice from this old manganese mine near Oehrenstock. Ex Wolfgang E. Henkel collection.
